DON OT SIT

This piece is a combination of two photographs I took during my travels in India ; one of monkeys on a wall in a quiet, abandoned temple in Bharatpur, and the other of a weathered wall in Mumbai with the words “Do Not Sit” (or more accurately, “Don Ot Sit”) painted with charming imperfection, echoing the everyday contradictions I’ve grown to love.
A love letter to India’s paradoxes: the rule and the rebellion, the structure and the fluidity, the sacred and the ordinary.
It’s a reflection of where my love of animals and India collide, in a way that feels like the most refined expression of my work so far.
