A limited edition giclee print of the beautiful temple elephant from Hampi, India called Laxmi. As with many of the Indian elephants she has the holy red tikka powder on her forehead.

The beautiful temple elephant from Hampi, India, known as Laxmi, has been so well received that I felt compelled to paint her again from a completely different angle. I called this piece Sacred eye. This is a very spiritual piece that glows with an aura of calm and serenity and shows her for the beautiful soul that she is.

I called this piece Shakti as 'Shakti' represents the divine life force that flows through us all, ie strength. I wanted to depict how her majestic nature shines though despite the threat that elephants face in Asia both in our social and physical climate.

Hathi lives on elephant sanctuary in Kerala, India. She lives her life as a free elephant and is very well cared for.
