Created on a rooftop in Pushkar using only local materials and working directly from my photographs, this painting captures the colour, movement and spirit of everyday life in India. I wanted to convey the feeling of being immersed in it all — the people, the architecture, the monkeys and the constant visual discoveries.
Layers of delicate pattern, texture and fragmented imagery echo the intricate surfaces and decorative details that surrounded me, creating a softer, dreamlike sense of place.
