Created on a rooftop in Pushkar using only local materials and working directly from my photographs, this painting captures something of the overwhelming beauty, colour and energy of the world unfolding around me. I wanted to convey not just what I saw, but the feeling of being completely immersed in it — the noise, movement, spirituality and extraordinary visual richness of everyday life in India.
The painting is built up through layers of pattern, texture and fragments of imagery, echoing the intricate surfaces and decorative details that surrounded me.
