I have recently completed a year long 'Studio Practice' course at the Newlyn School of Art which I feel has changed the course of my practice, uncovering a more fluid and experimental element approach.
More recent semi-abstract paintings are inspired by tropical plants such as banana trees and capture the essence the Indian landscape.
My visceral connection to colour is intuitive and my animals serve as a medium for self expression.
By omitting contextual background I am suspending the animal in an aesthetic realm, making it the unapologetic subject and not a substitute or stand in for the human form, but proudly holding its own space.
