Priya is a street cow from Udaipur, Rajasthan India. I met her in the old city with my daughter during Holi in March 2019. We spent a very magical week there volunteering for Animal Aid Unlimited during which time I took some photographs that formed the inspiration for this painting. The colours and energy in this piece gives a real feeling of the magical festival of Holi where coloured powder is thrown in the streets. We then travelled to Delhi where I bought the Sari border and the head embellishment from the Kanari bazaar.
