original prints

Printmaking is traditionally a method of image production where an image is made by pressing a metal sheet onto paper under a large press. These impressions are perhaps the most subtle and delicate of all my work and yet the image still retains its intensity and vibrancy.

There are countless different techniques. My work in this field is predominantly mono-printing.

A monoprint, as the name implies, is a one-off impression made by applying ink to a flat surface and transferring the image to paper. Due to the instant nature of the way the work is produced, it allows one to be more experimental in approach, hence producing a looser image.
